This is a moist and delicious family-sized Christmas pudding packed with fruit and spices and laced with brandy. It´s steamed for 7 hours to achieve the glorious rich brown colour characteristic of this most famous of British puddings. Contains raisins, sultanas, apricots, prunes, crystalised fruit peel, fresh apple, orange zest, apple juice, butter, Demerara sugar, free-range eggs, wheat flour, baking powder, breadcrumbs, molasses, mixed spices (cinammon, nutmeg, ginger and cloves), chopped almonds and brandy. Our Christmas pudding does not contain beef suet.
Serves: 8-10 portions.
Net weight approx. 1.1 kg. Our Christmas puddings are made in advance and refrigerated until delivery as the local climate is not suitable for long-term storage at ambient temperature as is the usual practice in the UK. They are supplied wrapped in cling film and aluminium foil and therefore only suitable for microwave reheating.(see reheating instructions below.)
Remove all packaging, place the pudding upside down on the serving plate, microwave at full power for 3 minutes, let the pudding rest for a couple of minutes then microwave for a further three minutes at full power. Let the pudding rest for a few minutes before serving.
This quintessentially British yuletide treat was once made with minced meat, hence the confusing name....
