Scottish shortbread petticoat tails

Made to the traditional shortbread recipe with just three ingredients - a mixture of wheat and corn flour, butter and sugar. The origin of the unusual name of this wedge shaped biscuit is unclear. One legend has it that Mary, Queen of Scots asked her French chefs to come up with a daintier version of what was then a slab-like biscuit and voilà, petites gatelles (´´little cakes´´) came into being!

Serves: 10 biscuits per package. Baked on the day of the order and sealed in an airtight bag to maintain freshness.
